Working with streamable data
Cyclone 3DR is able to process data in two different ways:
Import to the document: Data is fully loaded into the project, making it available for all processing workflows.
Streamed from an external source: Data is accessed on-the-fly from its original location. Only the portion currently needed is loaded into RAM, resulting in a significantly lower memory footprint and enabling work with very large datasets without performance bottlenecks.
The different supported sources for streaming are:
LGSx: stream from a LGSx file locally or on a remote storage.
Cyclone Register 360 PLUS: stream data from a Register 360 PLUS project.
Hexagon GeoCloud: stream asset from Hexagon GeoCloud.

Conversion
While navigation tools such as camera controls, position navigation, and clipping objects work seamlessly with streamed data, most advanced processing workflows cannot operate directly on it. A conversion step is required first.
Conversion creates new elements from the original streamed data and stores them locally in the project. Once converted, these elements are fully independent from the streaming source and can be processed like any traditionally imported data.
